To manage the heavy schedule in New Zealand, India's bowling coach Morne Morkel has outlined a comprehensive strategy to prevent player fatigue. The plan involves maintaining a backup group of bowlers in the country to provide cover for the upcoming two-match Test series, which follows immediately after a five-match ODI series.
This rotation strategy includes using India A players to prepare for red-ball cricket and rotating bowlers during the 50-over matches to ensure readiness for the Tests.
Morne Morkel emphasized that the entire squad, including star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, will be have a structured workload management plan in the presence of match practice and match-ready backup options. He also noted that Arshdeep Singh's ability to suit various conditions could make him a strong candidate for the bowling combinations in the Test series.
