Tennessee football may have gained a clearer evaluation of its roster from a 24-14 win over Auburn on October 3 than from its previous outings. Quarterback George MacIntyre provided a spark off the bench, outperforming Faizon Brandon by completing eight of ten passes for 86 yards without a turnover, earning consideration for a start against Arkansas on October 10.

Meanwhile, running back DeSean Bishop dominated the ground game with 220 rushing yards despite a severely depleted offensive line.
