Arteta: Arsenal will take new team photo including Saliba

Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Arsenal will retake their official squad photograph to include William Saliba, who was notably absent from the image released earlier this week due to a conflicting medical appointment. The defender, who has not yet featured in the 2026/27 campaign owing to a back injury, has made 184 appearances for the club and remains a pivotal figure in the squad.

Arteta explained that the original shoot had been postponed multiple times due to commercial commitments and travel logistics, but he assured fans that a new group picture will be arranged once the entire team can be gathered. The manager also noted that Saliba is handling the situation well, having received some lighthearted teasing from his teammates, and confirmed that the player is "completely fine" with the resolution.

Regarding Saliba's recovery, Arteta stated that the 25-year-old has resumed on-pitch training and is showing positive signs of healing, with a follow-up MRI scan scheduled for next week to monitor his progress. In other injury updates, Martin Zubimendi is in contention to return for the upcoming away match at Nottingham Forest after sustaining a knock during the warm-down following the Leeds fixture.

Meanwhile, Piero Hincapie is expected to be sidelined for another one or two weeks, and winger Christos Tzolis is recovering well from a hamstring injury sustained while on international duty with Greece, with a return to action anticipated in a few weeks.
