San Francisco linebacker Fred Warner has been penalized by the league for two separate incidents during the team's 23-17 victory over Washington. The defender was assessed a $17,911 fine for a hit on a defenseless player that officials initially flagged but later rescinded, alongside a $47,762 penalty for improper helmet usage that went uncalled during the contest.
These combined fines bring his total disciplinary costs for the week to $65,673. This season, Warner has faced four total fines, including previous penalties for a hip-drop tackle and a helmet-to-helmet hit against Trey McBride.
The league has indicated that additional infractions of these types could result in a one-game suspension for the All-Pro linebacker.
