New Zealand head coach Rob Walter expressed disappointment after his side lost the first two T20Is against India at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, leaving the visitors with a 2-0 lead in a five-match series. In the first game on October 22, India chased 225/4 to reach 230/6 in 19.4 overs, aided by Sanju Samson's 67 from 33 balls.
The second match on October 24 saw India reach 181/6 in 19.5 overs to win by four wickets, chasing a New Zealand total of 180/5, which included 70 runs from Glenn Phillips.
Walter noted that while his team played well for about 80% of each contest, they failed to capitalize on key moments and finish strongly. He attributed some of the struggle to a lack of competitive cricket prior to the series.
Despite the narrow margins of defeat, Walter remains positive about the team's performance as they prepare for the third T20I in Wellington on October 27.
