The 2026 WTA Finals will make history by debuting at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden from November 8–15, marking the first time the elite year-end tournament has been held in the United States. The event will feature eight top singles players and doubles teams, with only the four Grand Slams ranking higher in prestige.
Among the singles competitors, Elena Rybakina stands out as the only player with both a WTA Finals title (2025) and an Indian Wells championship (2023), while also chasing her first WTA World No. 1 ranking.
Aryna Sabalenka, the reigning undefeated champion, is just under 1,000 points behind Rybakina and could leapfrog her with a strong performance, given that a full victory would yield 1,500 ranking points. Mirra Andreeva, the 2025 French Open winner, will make her singles debut after previously competing in doubles, while Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff bring recent Grand Slam experience and past WTA Finals doubles success.
Elina Svitolina, Linda Noskova, and either Karolina Muchova or Marta Kostyuk round out the field, with Noskova adding Wimbledon to her 2026 title count. The absence of Iga Swiatek, a former champion, leaves the door open for any of the remaining contenders to dominate in a format where every match pits top-ranked players against each other from the start.
