Venkatapathy Raju has questioned the continuous omission of Kuldeep Yadav following India's 3-2 victory in a five-match T20I series against New Zealand. The former left-arm spinner pointed out that Kuldeep has been selected across all formats but restricted to only three appearances out of 35 matches in SENA countries over the last two years.
During a virtual media interaction organized by Sony Sports Network ahead of an upcoming ODI series, Raju expressed surprise over the benching of a wrist-spinner who serves as a major asset in white-ball cricket. He argued that limited participation harms a bowler's control and match fitness, while also noting that India's current bowling attack lacks necessary variations when defending totals against opposing batters.
