Former two‑time All‑Star Chiney Ogwumike used ESPN’s First Take to lambast the WNBA’s handling of the 2026 Finals, saying an eight‑day gap between the semifinals and the championship disrupted offensive rhythm for both the Atlanta Dream and the Golden State Valkyries. She argued that a week’s notice should have allowed the league to secure a primetime TV slot and avoid the scheduling scramble she described as a “logistical failure.”
The league later announced that Game 6 will be played on Oct. 29 at State Farm Arena, a venue that seats roughly 17,000 compared with the Dream’s usual 3,500‑capacity Gateway Center Arena.
The decision required juggling the arena’s existing commitment to host an NBA matchup between the Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers on the same day.
