Medical examinations at a medical facility confirmed that his spine and skull remained undamaged, though surgical intervention for his arm injury is scheduled.

The incident occurs shortly before the couple's upcoming wedding ceremony and follows a sequence of previous injury-plagued campaigns for the athlete. Despite recent physical setbacks involving multiple fractures in prior seasons, the Dutch competitor holds a contract to remain with his current squad through the upcoming year.
