The Dutch cycling team arrives in full force for the UCI Gravel World Championships in Nannup, Western Australia, with a squad of 16 elite riders—seven women and nine men—aiming to dominate the event. Marianne Vos, the 2024 gravel world champion and a 14-time rainbow jersey winner across four disciplines, is the team’s top contender to reclaim the elite women’s title.
Vos, who finished second in last year’s championship behind Lorena Wiebes, has committed fully to the event after securing altitude training, while Wiebes will focus on the Tour of Chongming Island and UCI Track World Championships instead. The Dutch women’s lineup includes gravel specialist Geerike Schreurs, who could play a key role in positioning Vos for victory or challenging for the title herself, having secured multiple wins in the Gravel World Series and Earth Series this year.
The team’s depth and experience—highlighted by their top-20 finishes in both the 2023 and 2024 championships—will be tested in a competitive field, with Schreurs and Vos set to clash in a potential sprint battle for the podium.
