‘Shreyas has done a fabulous job’ - Gautam Gambhir backs India T20I captain after 3-2 series win

Gautam Gambhir has publicly supported Shreyas Iyer following India's 3-2 T20I series victory against New Zealand. Despite a demanding schedule that included the Asian Games and a series against West Indies, the Indian squad managed to secure wins in the first three matches of the tour.

Gambhir praised the team's ability to adapt quickly to unfamiliar conditions after arriving in New Zealand with only a single day of practice.

The head coach highlighted the team's aggressive approach, specifically noting successful chases of 225 and 199 runs. Key contributions from players like Naman Dhir, Tilak Varma, and Nitish Reddy were instrumental in overcoming early-innings pressure during the series.

While the hosts rallied to win the final two matches, Gambhir expressed satisfaction with the squad's resilience and tactical execution throughout the trip.
