‘Saved Their Season’ — CFB Analyst Credits Dylan Raiola for Rescuing Oregon After Dante Moore’s Horrific Injury vs. USC

September 28, 2026

During the fourth week of the college football schedule, the Oregon Ducks secured a 41-27 victory against the USC Trojans. In the second quarter, starting quarterback Dante Moore suffered a severe injury and had to be carted off the field.

Backup quarterback Dylan Raiola stepped in, completing 19 of 25 passing attempts for 289 yards and two touchdowns to guide head coach Dan Lanning's squad to the win.

Following the performance, CBS Sports commentator Emory Hunt praised Raiola on a podcast appearance for stabilizing the team after the early exit by Moore. Before this matchup, Oregon had suffered a setback against the Oklahoma State Cowboys in week two.

Analysts noted that Raiola's effective relief appearance means the program will not feel rushed to force Moore back onto the field too quickly.
