‘Pakistan don’t offer much competition anymore’: BCCI’s verdict after India survive scare in Asian Games final

India secured a gold medal at the Asian Games 2026 after defeating their arch-rivals by 19 runs in a tense title clash on October 3. Mithun Manhas later argued that the losing side no longer provides genuine competition, though he praised his squad's ability to navigate high-pressure situations.

Batting first after winning the toss, the victors posted a total of 211 runs, powered by strong half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma. Despite a scare during the chase driven by Hasan Nawaz, the bowling attack held firm to seal the tournament victory.
