Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has shared his blueprint for the upcoming 2027 ODI World Cup, advising the national selection committee and team management to land in South Africa four weeks ahead of the tournament. The major fifty-over competition is slated to take place between October 4 and November 21 across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia, featuring fourteen participating nations competing across fifty-seven matches.
Yuvraj emphasized the necessity of avoiding constant squad rotation and maintaining stability within the roster roughly a year before the event begins, ensuring key positions get sufficient match practice. He also pointed out that modern scheduling leaves fewer fifty-over fixtures compared to T20 matches, making intentional preparation even more vital for the squad.
The 2011 tournament hero expressed strong optimism about India's chances to capture their third title following their 2023 campaign on home soil.
