‘I've been your assistant for the last 25 years’ - Yuvraj Singh on joining Sourav Ganguly at DC

Delhi Capitals have added a pair of high-profile figures to their coaching staff ahead of IPL 2027, with Sourav Ganguly and Yuvraj Singh forming a leadership duo. Ganguly, serving as head coach, has welcomed Singh—his long-time protégé—as assistant and batting coach, marking the former India all-rounder’s first formal coaching role.

The duo’s bond traces back to Yuvraj’s international debut under Ganguly’s captaincy, with the younger player crediting his mentor for shaping his approach to team dynamics and leadership. Singh’s appointment reflects a blend of personal connection and strategic intent, as he prepares to transition from individual player development to guiding the entire squad.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals have reshaped their roster with key signings like Rishabh Pant and Zeeshan Ansari, alongside notable departures, signaling a push toward championship contention under the new coaching structure.
