Get startedShai Hope etched his name into West Indies cricket history by becoming the first batter from the Caribbean to score three T20 International centuries, achieving the feat with an unbeaten 102 off 50 balls in Hyderabad. His latest century—his second in this series—came with a unique statistical twist: all three of his T20I hundreds are unbeaten scores of exactly 102, propelling him ahead of Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis, who each have two centuries in the format.
The innings also marked Hope’s entry into the 2,000-run club in T20Is, joining an elite group of West Indies batsmen that includes Rovman Powell, Nicholas Pooran, and Brandon King, as he crossed the milestone with a six off the final ball of the innings. West Indies piled on 247 for 3 in their allotted 20 overs, setting India a challenging 248 to chase, with explosive contributions from Shimron Hetmyer (33 off 12 balls) and Sherfane Rutherford (49 off 26 balls), while Jewel Andrew and Rovman Powell added quickfire runs early in the chase.
