'He was the same on and off screen' - Basit Ali remembers late Nana Patekar's years of friendship and support

Former Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali has paid tribute to the late actor Nana Patekar, who passed away on October 8 at age 75 following a cardiac arrest. The two maintained a close friendship that began in 1994, with Ali noting that the actor provided consistent emotional support during his mother's illness and his own recent heart health struggles.

The actor's final rites were conducted on Thursday at his farmhouse located near Khadakwasla, with his wife Neelkanti and son Malhar in attendance. The ceremony took place with full state honours after his remains were transported from Goa to Pune.
