Cincinnati Bengals signal-caller Joe Burrow recently shared that he actually despised the Ohio State Buckeyes during his youth, despite later spending three seasons with the program. Speaking on an NFL on FOX appearance with Julian Edelman, the quarterback noted his lifelong preference for Nebraska due to deep family ties to the Cornhuskers.
Both his father, Jimmy Burrow, and his older brothers, Jamie and Dan, previously played for Nebraska, while his father also served on the coaching staff.
Following his family's relocation to Ohio when his father accepted a coaching job at Ohio University, Burrow established himself as a standout high school athlete at Athens High School. During his 2014 senior season, he recorded nearly 4,500 passing yards alongside 63 touchdowns and just two interceptions, earning Ohio's Mr.
Football honor and leading his squad to the state title game before eventually choosing the Buckeyes and later transferring to LSU.
