With Neeraj Chopra sidelined due to a ligament injury, Indian javelin throwers Yashvir Singh and Rohit Yadav stepped up at the Asian Games to secure two spots on the podium. Yashvir clinched the silver medal by launching a personal best effort of 85.72 meters on his final attempt, building on his previous bronze from the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Meanwhile, Rohit marked a successful return from a severe elbow surgery by capturing the bronze medal with an 84.35-meter throw. Despite the strong performance from the Indian pair, Sri Lanka's Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage claimed the gold medal with a leading mark of 88.55 meters, continuing his dominant winning streak through the 2026 season.
