World Series 2026: For the Rays, being the best team in the American League simply wasn't enough

The Tampa Bay Rays fell short in the 2026 World Series as the Milwaukee Brewers secured the franchise's first championship with a 4-1 victory in Game 5. Following the clinching defeat, Rays closer Bryan Baker and starting pitcher Drew Rasmussen acknowledged the exceptional caliber of their opponents, with Rasmussen taking the mound on short rest for Game 5 before departing after four innings.
