WNBA clarifies why A’ja Wilson got a technical foul after Fever altercation

Following a tense postseason contest, the WNBA issued an official pool report regarding a technical foul assessed to A’ja Wilson during Game 2. Indiana secured a 99-89 victory to level the playoff series at one game apiece, capitalizing on strong home support.

The penalty stemmed from an altercation on the baseline involving Wilson and a spectator who had approached and pointed at her, which crew chief Randy Richardson classified as unsportsmanlike conduct. Postgame, Wilson expressed frustration that the individual was permitted to remain in the arena after stepping into the second row during the confrontation.
