Cricket West Indies CEO Chris Dehring has voiced strong opposition to the current financial framework governing international cricket, which leaves visiting teams without a share of revenue from bilateral series. He specifically noted that the Caribbean board earns nothing from the ongoing white-ball matches in India, a series estimated to generate between 20 and 30 million dollars.
Dehring traced the root of this fiscal imbalance to a 1997 ICC vote, where his organization was defeated 9-1 in a decision that abolished traditional touring fees. This shift has contributed to persistent financial instability for the West Indies, which currently accounts for only 5 percent of total ICC revenue compared to India's 38 percent share.
The final T20I of the current tour is scheduled for Saturday in Bengaluru.
