SE Dons: From YouTube and Sunday League to the brink of FA Cup history

The SE Dons are nearing a historic FA Cup milestone just three seasons after competing in the Sunday League. Founded in 2014 by Andrew McHugh, the club has leveraged its massive online following to transition into Saturday football and currently sits one victory away from the first round proper.

Their journey has included overcoming four higher-ranked opponents and a dramatic 3-2 comeback win against Chichester, punctuated by a 5-1 triumph over Weymouth. With six matches played in their inaugural tournament run, the team now prepares for a fourth qualifying round clash against Sholing.

Alex Teniola proved pivotal in their recent success, netting a late winner during their comeback victory. The club remains one of only three sides to have advanced this far after entering the competition in the extra preliminary round.
