Through the first three games of the season, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has established himself near the top of league lists with two hundred thirty-one receiving yards on fourteen catches, averaging sixteen and a half yards per reception. During the Week 3 opening play against the Miami Dolphins, quarterback Patrick Mahomes evaded a defensive line stunt by scrambling to the right and throwing across his body to connect with Kelce for a gain of forty-eight yards.
Mahomes credited the deep speed of wide receiver Tyquan Thornton for pushing the safety back, which created the open window behind the defense. Mahomes finished the contest completing all fourteen of his play-action passes for two hundred one yards and a touchdown.
