Penn State football team suffers blowout loss to Northwestern in stadium debut

Construction workers scrambled to finish the newly constructed venue prior to Friday's opening kickoff, but the Nittany Lions suffered a severe 34-13 defeat to the Wildcats. Coach Matt Campbell admitted his team struggled to establish any rhythm and fell short in physical execution, allowing over 400 rushing yards while managing just 48 yards on the ground themselves.

Northwestern capitalized heavily on missed tackles as Caleb Komolafe churned out 188 yards and one touchdown alongside Joseph Himon II who contributed 162 yards and two scores. Meanwhile, quarterback Rocco Becht completed 26 of 41 passes for 243 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions, while backup Alex Manske did not enter the game as Penn State prepares to face USC next week.
