Haas has secured Rafael Camara for their 2027 driver lineup following a decisive evaluation session. The team utilized their Testing of Previous Cars initiative to host a shootout at Portimao, where Camara outperformed rivals Leonardo Fornaroli and Ryo Hirakawa to earn the seat.

Team principal Ayao Komatsu noted that the data gathered during this private assessment was critical in removing the uncertainty typically associated with scouting junior talent. This internal testing capability, supported by Toyota, allowed the team to evaluate candidates directly rather than relying on external championship standings.
