Haas F1 has confirmed **Rafael Câmara** as Esteban Ocon’s replacement for the 2027 season, marking the Brazilian’s leap from Formula 2 to the premier series. The 21-year-old, currently leading the F2 championship in his debut campaign, has already delivered three feature race wins this year and sits seven points ahead of Red Bull-backed rival Nikola Tsolov with two rounds remaining.
His rapid ascent through the feeder series mirrors that of past F1 stars like Charles Leclerc and George Russell, having won the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship and the 2025 Formula 3 title in consecutive seasons—a feat achieved by only five other drivers in history. Câmara’s strong performance in a private Haas test at Portimão in August, where he competed alongside other Ferrari academy drivers, was a decisive factor in securing his spot alongside Ollie Bearman next year.
The move solidifies Haas’s partnership with Ferrari, as the team will field two Ferrari juniors in 2027, including McLaren reserve driver Leonardo Fornaroli, who also participated in the evaluation process.
