Why Eze is struggling to find his form at Arsenal

Eberechi Eze is currently struggling to secure regular minutes and peak performance at Arsenal, following a December 2025 defeat against Aston Villa where his defensive lapse contributed to the opening goal. Pundit Matt Upson notes that the 28-year-old attacking midfielder is having trouble nailing down a specific tactical role, particularly as he is often deployed on the left flank rather than his preferred central position currently occupied by captain Martin Odegaard.

Arsenal failed to acquire top targets Vinicius Jr and Julian Alvarez in the transfer market, and although summer signing Christos Tzolis picked up an injury, Eze has struggled to consistently capitalize on the resulting opening in the starting lineup.
