Why didn’t Shubman Gill bat at No.4 for Punjab vs Chhattisgarh in Ranji Trophy match?

During a Ranji Trophy fixture between Punjab and Chhattisgarh, prominent batsman Shubman Gill did not take his usual spot at number four during the second innings chase. Having spent the entire day off the field while his team defended, regulations prevented him from returning to the crease immediately, forcing teammates Prabhsimran Singh and Salil Arora to occupy that batting position instead.

Earlier in the match at the New PCA stadium, Gill managed only a single run before being dismissed by Ajay Mandal during the first innings. The top-tier batter is soon scheduled to depart for an upcoming tour with the national team, joining the traveling squad for matches in New Zealand.
