Why Caitlin Clark, Fever can still upset the Aces despite an ugly regular-season finale

Following a difficult blowout defeat to conclude the regular slate, the Indiana Fever must quickly regroup as they head into a postseason matchup against the Las Vegas Aces. Head coach Stephanie White acknowledged her squad's poor execution during Thursday's eighty-six to sixty-six loss to the top-seeded Minnesota Lynx, a game where Aliyah Boston was sidelined and the backcourt struggled mightily from the field.

Despite that setback, the sixth-seeded group enters the playoffs with a favorable historical record against the reigning champions, having secured two victories on the road in Las Vegas during the regular season. Veteran guard Kelsey Mitchell has performed exceptionally well in prior meetings against their upcoming opponent, averaging over twenty-seven points per contest, providing a strong foundation as the team attempts to reset their record to zero-and-zero.
