What Jose Fernandez thinks of Paige Bueckers after Dallas Wings’ first-round exit

Following a narrow 77-73 postseason defeat to the Golden State Valkyries, Dallas Wings head coach Jose Fernandez praised guard Paige Bueckers for leading the franchise through a remarkable transformation. The team advanced from a 10-win record in 2025 to 27 victories in 2026, largely powered by Bueckers's regular season averages of 20.9 points and 5.9 assists.

Although an emotional Bueckers failed to score during the fourth quarter of the elimination match, teammate Arike Ogunbowale joined in commending the rookie guard's season and advocating for her inclusion on the first-team All-WNBA roster.
