Ohio State head coach Ryan Day announced that quarterback Julian Sayin will be sidelined indefinitely following an arm injury sustained during a 19-15 victory over Indiana. Sayin, a Heisman finalist from the previous year who has 17 touchdowns and two interceptions this season, was hurt when Mario Landino sacked him in the fourth quarter, causing a fumble.
Day indicated it is unlikely Sayin will return for the remainder of the regular season.
True freshman Luke Fahey, a three-star recruit from Mission Viejo, California, is expected to take over the starting role. Fahey, who chose the Buckeyes over Stanford and Indiana, recorded over 7,000 passing yards during his high school career. He stands 5-foot-11 and weighs 206 pounds.
