Where NCAA volleyball selection committee ranks Wisconsin in season

The NCAA selection committee released its in‑season top‑16 seeds on Oct. 18, placing Wisconsin at the No. 4 spot. The Badgers entered the rankings after a 13‑5 overall record and a 7‑1 mark in Big Ten play, the sole conference loss coming against undefeated Nebraska, which sits at No. 1.

Wisconsin also holds the No. 6 position in the latest AVCA coaches poll and was ranked No.

5 in the RPI heading into the Oct. 18 matchups.

The Badgers have a 6‑4 record versus opponents ranked in the top 25 of the RPI and an 8‑5 record against teams that were in the AVCA poll’s top tier. Among the other Big Ten programs in the top‑16, Wisconsin has victories over Florida (No.

5), Louisville (No. 7), Oregon (No.

10) and Purdue (No. 16), while its defeats include losses to Nebraska (No.

1), Pittsburgh (No. 2), Kentucky (No.

3) and Texas (No. 12).
