Washington Nationals vs New York Mets Game Thread

The Washington Nationals and New York Mets adjusted their schedule to an earlier afternoon slot to sidestep approaching bad weather. Both managers shuffled their batting orders and defensive alignments for the matchup.

Manager Blake Butera gave Connelly Early his organizational debut on the mound after a recovery from injury, with Jake Irvin slated to follow in relief. The Mets countered by sending Jonah Tong to pitch, while shifting Francisco Lindor to designated hitter and giving Brett Baty his first major league start at shortstop.
