Jerome Bettis Jr. reached a significant milestone during Notre Dame's 35-13 victory over Navy, securing the first touchdown of his collegiate career.
The redshirt freshman wide receiver caught a 31-yard pass from quarterback CJ Carr in the fourth quarter, finishing the contest with six receptions for 78 yards. This performance marks a breakout moment for the Georgia native, who had previously recorded only four catches for 92 yards this season following a foot injury.
His father, Jerome Bettis Sr., famously concluded his own Fighting Irish tenure with three scores during the 1993 Cotton Bowl Classic. With Notre Dame holding a 7-1 record, the younger Bettis may see increased playing time as the team prepares for an upcoming matchup against Miami.
