Virat Kohli smashed an unbeaten 139 to steer India to an eight-wicket victory over the West Indies in the opening match of their ODI series. During the dominant chase of 296, Kohli shared a crucial 151-run stand with Shubman Gill, who contributed 110 runs, helping the hosts comfortably reach the target with plenty of overs to spare.
Earlier in the fixture, Justin Greaves and John Campbell helped the visiting side post a total of 295 for 7, which was kept in check by Kuldeep Yadav's four-wicket haul. With this stellar knock, Kohli tied Sunil Gavaskar's historic milestone of 13 international centuries against the West Indies and became the fastest player to cross 15000 ODI runs.
