Red Bull’s Liam Lawson is set to make history at the United States Grand Prix by becoming the first active Formula 1 driver to headline a live music performance during a race weekend. On October 22, Lawson will take the stage at Austin’s Esses Bazaar as part of VCARB’s *Garage Sessions*, performing with his childhood band—including his brother—on a custom Taylor Guitars instrument.
The guitar features a pink-to-white ombre finish and Lawson’s racing number on the pickguard, reflecting his dual passions for racing and music. Beyond the stage, Lawson has previously collaborated with country artist Warren Zeiders and even taught teammate Isack Hadjar how to play guitar last year.
Though he’s accustomed to racing in front of global crowds, this marks his first live musical appearance, offering fans a rare glimpse beyond the track. The event underscores Lawson’s use of music as a creative outlet during the season, blending his racing career with a long-standing artistic side.
