UFC signee Douglas da Lapa explains Cristiano Ronaldo tribute celebration

Douglas da Lapa has secured a UFC contract after delivering a standout performance on Dana White’s Contender Series. The Brazilian fighter earned the promotion’s backing by finishing Davi Cabral via technical knockout in a thrilling middleweight bout at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

The victory marked a pivotal moment for da Lapa, who had previously faced skepticism from Dana White, who reportedly mistook him for a fighter nearly a decade older during contract negotiations. Beyond the MMA spotlight, da Lapa also drew attention for his unique celebration after the win—a tribute to soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo, further cementing his crossover appeal in the sports world.
