Angel McCoughtry recently praised Angel Reese for her leadership and competitive spirit, attributing the star's drive to her Baltimore upbringing. Reese, who secured the 2026 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year award with averages of 1.8 steals and 0.8 blocks per game, also leads the league with 12.1 rebounds per contest.
During the semifinals, she stepped up in the absence of Allisha Gray to help propel the Atlanta Dream to the finals for the first time in 13 years.
Golden State Valkyries head coach Natalie Nakase acknowledged Reese's intensity, noting her vocal support for teammates even when not on the floor. As the two teams prepare to meet in the championship series, Nakase identified the forward as a premier competitor.
The upcoming finals games for the Dream are scheduled to take place at State Farm Arena.
