Grant Dawson: Time will come when Nurullo Aliev is better than me – but not at UFC 333

UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski faces a high-stakes challenge at UFC 333, where he will defend his title against Movsar Evloev, an undefeated fighter with a 20-0 record and 10-0 UFC tally. Evloev, who has drawn comparisons to a prime-era fighter, is considered a stylistic mismatch for Volkanovski, with analysts like Jorge Masvidal confidently backing him to dethrone the champion.

The bout, set for October 24 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, has drawn significant attention, with Evloev’s relentless grappling and peak form positioning him as the favorite in betting markets. Meanwhile, other UFC storylines remain heated, including Merab Dvalishvili’s trilogy showdown with Petr Yan at the same event, where a victory could cement Dvalishvili’s legacy as a lightweight GOAT.

Robert Whittaker and Brendan Allen’s next matchup also looms as a potential clash of titans in the welterweight division.
