UCF's Defensive Line Anchoring DC Grinch's Unit

UCF has opened its campaign with three wins against a single loss, driven heavily by an elite defensive unit under coordinator Grinch. During their recent conference-opening victory over TCU, the Knights forced four turnovers and surrendered just 13 points.

The defensive line earned national praise, matching the top-ranked Texas squad with an 88.6 grade while completely shutting down the ground game of the Horned Frogs. Standouts like Jeffson Lafontant and Horace Lockett have anchored the interior, with Lafontant recording a stellar performance featuring a sack and multiple tackles for loss.

Coach Kenny Martin praised the maturity and experience of his veterans, noting that their familiarity with the scheme has allowed for advanced coaching. The unit now prepares for its toughest challenge yet against a ground-heavy Houston roster.
