Troy Fauntau leaves Week 1 game vs. Falcons with injury

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Troy Fautanu exited Sunday's opening-week matchup against the Atlanta Falcons after sustaining an injury. The issue forced the tackle out of the opening contest as Pittsburgh kicked off its 2026 campaign.

The Falcons also faced significant personnel problems heading into the clash, declaring multiple athletes inactive, most notably at quarterback. Tua Tagovailoa was sidelined due to an oblique issue sustained in Thursday's practice, thrusting Cooper Rush into starting duty while Michael Penix Jr.

had logged a full workout earlier in the week. Other notable key pairings outlined for the game included DK Metcalf opposing A.J.
