The Benjamin High School golf team secured the regional championship at Miami Shores Country Club on Monday, edging out Oxbridge Academy in a thrilling sudden-death tiebreaker after both teams finished at 283 (1-under). Leading the charge was Tiger Woods’ son, Charlie Woods, who shot a steady 70 (1-under) to tie for seventh in individual scoring and help anchor Benjamin’s victory.
The Bucs’ success came just a week after Woods led the team to a district title, showcasing his consistency and clutch performance under pressure. Head coach Toby Harbeck credited the team’s resilience, noting their ability to weather tight competition and capitalize on key opportunities.
Meanwhile, top individual honors went to St. John Paul II Academy’s Charlie Sundermeier, who carded a 64 (7-under) to finish second, while Liam Ly of St.
Andrew’s placed third with a 67 (4-under).
