Texas A&M secured a commanding 34-0 win over The Citadel at Kyle Field on Saturday, snapping a three-game losing streak that included a heavy defeat at Missouri. The Aggies’ offense dominated early, scoring on all four first-half drives, while the defense delivered its second shutout of the season.
With key starters like Mario Craver, Daymion Sanford, and DJ Hicks sidelined, younger players stepped up, including running backs KJ Edwards, Jamarion Morrow, Carsyn Baker, and Rueben Owens II, who combined for 234 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Edwards led the charge with 116 yards on 13 carries, while Morrow added 54 yards and three scores in just eight attempts, showcasing the depth of the backfield after a dismal 47-yard rushing performance against Missouri.
On the defensive side, safety Tawfiq Byard stood out with six tackles and a tackle for loss, helping contain The Citadel’s option offense. The Aggies’ passing game also saw contributions from freshman TK Norman, who made five catches for 88 yards despite a dropped pass, and Aaron Gregory, who emerged as a reliable target with six receptions, 94 yards, and two touchdowns.
Quarterbacks Marcel Reed and Brady Hart both connected with Gregory for scores, highlighting his growing role as a downfield threat. The win improved Texas A&M’s record to 4-3, providing a much-needed confidence boost ahead of their bye week before returning to SEC play.
