TENNESSEE VOLS FOOTBALL: Week 0 will now be start for '27 and '28 schedules

Tennessee has adjusted its upcoming football calendars for the 2027 and 2028 seasons to kick off a week earlier than previously planned. The Volunteers will now open their 2027 slate on August 28 by hosting Georgia Tech, moving that matchup up from its original September 11 slot.

Similarly, the 2028 campaign will now begin on August 26 in Charlotte with a neutral-site matchup against West Virginia. Both schedule shifts correspond to a newly adopted Division I Football Bowl Subdivision Oversight Committee proposal allowing teams to utilize the final weekend of August for Week 0 action.
