Jeffery Simmons made an immediate impact in his Chicago Bears debut, helping the team secure a 34-17 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Despite only two practices with his new squad following his recent trade, the defensive tackle recorded a sack, six tackles, and a pass deflection while playing the majority of defensive snaps.
Chicago's defense stifled Seattle, limiting the Seahawks to just one third-down conversion on 11 attempts throughout the contest.
Quarterback Sam Darnold struggled significantly while Simmons was on the field, as the Seahawks averaged only 3.0 yards per play during those sequences. Bears head coach Ben Johnson praised the newcomer's high-character presence and his ability to elevate the performance of his teammates.
The win marks the third consecutive victory for the 6-2 Bears.
