Valtteri Bottas bypassed a traditional flight following the previous weekend racing event in Sepang, opting instead for a four-hundred-nineteen-kilometer bicycle trip originating in Malaysia and concluding in Singapore ahead of the upcoming Grand Prix. The thirty-seven-year-old athlete commenced the grueling trek shortly after experiencing a spin during the race on Sunday, navigating gravel paths and off-road tracks during nocturnal hours.
Throughout the journey, Bottas encountered various wildlife including pythons, a cobra, large lizards requiring mid-ride leaps, a chasing dog, and cattle obstructing a narrow trail. Although the driver recently secured qualification for the Gravel World Championships following a strong placement in the Czech Republic, he will compete on four wheels at the Singapore event instead of participating in the cycling championship this weekend.
