Sikandar Raza emphasises unity and culture as Zimbabwe's strength after Bangladesh win

Zimbabwe kicked off the Abu Dhabi ODI Tri-Series on October 17, 2026, with a commanding 99-run victory over Bangladesh, marking Sikandar Raza's first win as ODI captain. Recovering from a rocky start at 24 for 3, the squad posted 271 for 8 thanks to resilient half-centuries from Brendan Taylor and Craig Ervine before dismissing their opponents for 172.

Captain Raza praised the collective fighting spirit and tactical adaptability required to handle the diverse phases of the pitch at Zayed Cricket Stadium. Following the triumph, Raza highlighted that no international victory is ever guaranteed and stressed the importance of mutual respect across historic rivalries.
