Shukri Conrad's South Africa revolution: Proteas rise from transition to Test dominance

Under the leadership of coach Shukri Conrad, the South African Test team has transformed into a global powerhouse. Following a period of inconsistency, the squad secured the 2025 World Test Championship title by defeating Australia at Lord's, capping off a campaign that saw them win nine of thirteen matches.

Their momentum continued with a dominant innings victory over Australia at Gqeberha, highlighted by a century from captain Temba Bavuma and a clinical bowling display that dismissed the tourists for 99 in the first innings. Conrad, who previously managed the national academy and youth setups, has achieved a 73.91% win rate since taking charge.

His tactical acumen was further validated in November 2025, when his side completed a historic 2-0 series sweep against India on their home soil, marking South Africa's first such achievement in the country in a quarter-century.
