Shubman Gill pips Rohit Sharma, scores fastest ODI hundred by an Indian captain as records galore at Guwahati

During the second One Day International against the West Indies, Indian skipper Shubman Gill blasted a remarkable century off just 62 balls to establish a new record for the quickest fifty-over hundred by an Indian captain. This explosive performance eclipsed the previous benchmark held by Rohit Sharma, who himself reached a historic milestone in the same fixture by surpassing 12,000 runs in the format before being dismissed for 101.

Driven by these stellar batting displays, the team made powerful progress in pursuit of a daunting 406-run target.
